Here’s a little taster…
THE MAGAZINES
Established for over 14 years, The Resident (www.theresident.greatbritishlife.co.uk) is Kensington and Chelsea’s premier local lifestyle magazine. It incorporates local news and events, profiles with interesting and relevant local figures, luxury travel inspiration – both here and abroad – as well as an excellent restaurant and food reviews section. Other comprehensive sections include health and beauty, interiors, fashion, hot shopping and book reviews. It was joined by The Mayfair Resident, established in 2009 and the must-read for this most prestigious of areas in the capital.
Grove (www.grove.greatbritishlife.co.uk) is a free lifestyle magazine hand-delivered exclusively to 35,000 selected ABC1 homes and businesses in Notting Hill, Kensington, Holland Park, Westbourne Park, Paddington, Bayswater, Maida Vale and Queen’s Park every month. It is written for creative, style-conscious and media-savvy readers age 25 to 45, predominantly female. Grove has an emphasis on style and shopping, eating out and providing the inside track on who’s who and what’s hot in the area. Today it’s known as ‘the Vogue of Notting Hill’.
Grove sits perfectly alongside its older sibling, The Hill (www.thehill.greatbritishlife.co.uk). The title has long been a fixture in the Holland Park, Notting Hill and Bayswater areas. It has already published over 300 issues and gets stronger and stronger with every passing month.
Primrose Hill, Hampstead and Camden are all areas with stories to tell and celebrities aplenty – and Northwest (www.northwest.greatbritishlife.co.uk) is the title that showcases all of that and more. A fixture in this part of London for more than a decade, Northwest is a fresh, funky and fabulous magazine that’s a joy to read.
Living South (www.livingsouth.greatbritishlife.co.uk) magazine is delivered to ABC1 homes across Anerley, Brixton, Brockley, Camberwell, Crystal Palace, East Dulwich, West Dulwich, Dulwich Village, Forest Hill, Herne Hill, Kennington, New Cross, Norwood, Peckham, Penge, Sydenham and Tulse Hill. It’s so highly thought of that even top comedienne Jenny Éclair offers her words of wisdom every month, as does TV personality Helen Lederer.

Over 35,000 homes and businesses receive the magazine every month, which is filled with local profiles, the latest news, health & beauty tips, education matters and the hottest properties on the market.

Featuring interviews with local celebrities, fascinating features about the area, food news including restaurant reviews, top tips for health and beauty, inspiring ideas for your home and the latest properties on the market, SW brings the local low-down to your doorstep – and is by far and away the biggest magazine of its type in the area. Today SW has two off-shoots, SW6 and SW19, which are comprehensive round-ups of the Fulham and Wimbledon areas.
Heading back north of the river, Angel (www.angel.greatbritishlife.co.uk) magazine was launched over a decade ago, started by a brother and sister with a love for Islington and its surroundings. As can be expected when dealing with such a great area, Angel grew beyond anyone’s wildest expectations to what it is today – North London’s most respected monthly lifestyle magazine.
The City needs no introduction – or does it? Do we really know all there is to know about the capital and the fabulous restaurants, bars, people and businesses nestled within? It was crying out for a magazine that did it justice and, in the summer of 2009, Live City & Islington (www.islington.greatbritishlife.co.uk) answered that call. From the latest celebrities to tread the West End boards and the hottest fashion on the streets, to those special businesses and hardworking individuals who quietly go about their job and make the City so special, Live City & Islington recognises them all. Covering the Islington borders, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, Barbican and touching on the West End, Live City & Islington is the perfect complement to its sister title, Angel.
Living North (www.livingnorth.greatbritishlife.co.uk) was launched in 2008 to celebrate, primarily, the Barnet and Enfield areas. It is dedicated to bringing residents a magazine celebrating the people and places in the area, a truly local publication that showcases why this is the place to be and live.
